From September 14 to 30 you can try our preschool group out for real. Come with your child for three hours in the morning, get to know the space, our team and the English – and leave with an individual settling-in plan. No pressure and no rush, for children aged 1–6. For children under 3, a parent stays with them – you simply settle in together.

A small group
No more than 24 children, with three adults when the group is full. In practice, that means we have time to tie shoelaces, kiss a scraped knee better and give a hug when someone is feeling sad. For two-year-olds, this matters more than any curriculum.
English all day long
Children hear English all day long – during songs, instructions, and play. Three days a week, Miss Madison, a native speaker from Canada, is with the children. We don't drill vocabulary; children soak up the language naturally. Our ratio is 90:10 – 10% is in Czech, so every child knows we understand them.
Settling in at your child's pace
We tailor the settling-in period to each child, in consultation with you. We set the pace by how ready your child is – not by a timeline.
A team that doesn't change
The same people look after the children every day. Our team works well together and has years of experience in early childhood education and teaching English. For a small child, a familiar face means more than a diploma on the wall. We have both.

It comes from Emmi Pikler's approach known as educaring. Small children don't learn in lessons – they learn while getting dressed, at snack time, while washing their hands. Every moment of care is also a moment of learning. That's why you won't find teaching separated from the rest of the day here. It may look like we play all day. That's because learning looks different for small children than it does at school.

Before Jonáš was born, we travelled the world and spent parts of our lives in Canada, Mexico and Portugal. When Jonáš arrived, we knew we wanted to give him something our parents couldn't give us back then. A second language.

But in our view, learning a language at school isn't enough. Most people who only learned a language in a classroom are too shy to actually use it. It's only when you live the language that the fear goes away. That's what led us to an English-language preschool group. Children learn by living the language. They don't just pick up the basics of English – above all, they learn not to be afraid to use a foreign language.
On top of that, research consistently shows that children who spend their preschool years in a multilingual environment learn other languages more easily and are much more empathetic, because they can put themselves in other people's shoes. And we think that's exactly what we need today. More empathy and understanding for others.

Anna-Marie Konečná writes educational materials for preschool teachers, illustrates, and is a trained kindergarten teacher. She is the author of the e-book Jak připravit dítě na první den školky (How to Prepare Your Child for Their First Day of Preschool) and co-author of the children's book Jonáš kosmonautem (Jonáš the Astronaut).
Children's joy comes first for her, and she brings it into her drawings and teaching materials. At Little Kids she serves on the supervisory board, helps prepare our materials and is behind the design of the whole preschool.
What to expect from English – and what not to
What we don't promise
Some English preschools promise a higher IQ or better focus – no research has confirmed that. And we can't guarantee fluent English at the age of four, because every child is different.
What we do promise
A small group, a respectful approach, and care tailored to each child. We offer exactly what we'd want for our own children.
And your child gains something an ordinary preschool can't give them.
They'll pick up the correct pronunciation and rhythm of English at exactly the age when their mind is most receptive. And above all, a natural bond: English will never be a foreign subject for them, just a second language they simply speak.
Children from bilingual environments are also, according to research, better at putting themselves in other people's shoes. They're not just learning words – they're learning that other people see the world differently. And their brains will understand how language works: that a word is just a label that can be swapped. A great foundation for a third language, when its time comes.
We are a childcare group in the process of registration, for children aged 1 to 6. We are not a kindergarten listed in the national registry; what that means for preschoolers is explained in our FAQ.
What matters most to us is the relationship your child builds with food
When it comes to food, our goal isn’t for your child to eat everything – it’s the relationship with food they take away from us for life. Alongside every snack and main meal there’s always an offer of fruit and vegetables, and children pick whatever catches their eye. The same goes for snacks – children often help prepare them and decide what and how much they’ll eat. We offer balanced meals, but we never force anything. Lunches are delivered by Jihočeská kuchyně, cooked from fresh ingredients; snacks and the all-day fruit and vegetable offer are our own doing. We can accommodate any dietary restriction, and we always respect how you want your child to eat.
